“Because I Said So” Review
I am SO glad I didn’t make my husband see "Because I Said So" in the theatres! When I rented it he actually said, Diane Keaton? No thanks.
As weird as it is to say about such a great actress, her latest movie roles seem to all be the same. Not only does she play the same whinny "assertive" mother character in "The Family Stone", she also played it in "Something’s Gotta Give". What’s going on with her? I loved her in "Father of the Bride (15th Anniversary Edition)"…
Anyway, the main reason why I wanted to see "Because I said so" was that I heard my favorite Gilmore Girl’s actress Lauren Graham would have some semi nude scenes in it. hehe. Sadly that scene was less than a minute long and the movie itself was pretty awful. I did like hearing Lauren Graham sing in it though. She has a decent voice.
Also in the film is popstar Mandy Moore who plays the cute, misguided Milly. The most horrific and awkward scene in the movie was when Mandy’s character explains what an orgasm is like to Diane’s character who is supposed to be playing her MOTHER! There’s WAY too much graphic sex talk between related people in this movie. Maybe my family is just weird or something, but I don’t:
- Talk to my family during foreplay with my husband.
- Talk in detail about my sex life with my mom (ICK!) or even my sister. The way the characters bragged about their orgasms to each other was just sickening!
This movie is a total waste of time. Don’t see it unless you think your family should be actively involved in your sex life.
