Behind the Scenes with Whip It’s Drew Barrymore

Roller derbies are all the rage right now, and Drew Barrymore’s directorial debut, “Whip It,” couldn’t come at a better time. The world needs some gritty new old sport to glom onto.
Ellen Page stars as Bliss Cavendar, a rebellious Texas teen who trades in her small town beauty pageant crown for the wild and rowdy world of roller derby.
Kristen Wiig ("Saturday Night Live") and Juliette Lewis ("Old School") play roller-derby stars. Eve, Jimmy Fallon, and Daniel Stern
are also featured in the movie, as is Marcia Gay Harden, who plays Bliss’ straight-laced mom.
