Box Office Numbers - January 20, 2008
"Cloverfield" broke the January box office record (it opened with $41 million this weekend!) by surpassing the $35.9 million premiere weekend of the "Star Wars" reissue in 1997!
I enjoyed "Cloverfield" but did not have a chance to see anything else this weekend. I must say that I am really impressed by "Juno" being so high up the list for another week!
Here are the numbers from this past weekend:
- "Cloverfield," $41 million
- "27 Dresses," $22.4 million
- "The Bucket List," $15.2 million
- "Juno," $10.3 million
- "National Treasure: Book of Secrets," $8.1 million
- "First Sunday," $7.8 million
- "Mad Money," $7.7 million
- "Alvin and the Chipmunks," $7 million
- "I Am Legend," $5.1 million
- "Atonement," $4.8 million
