Harry Potter fans are lamenting the move of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince from Nov. 21, 2008 to July 17, 2009. But it’s a good thing for Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, because it leaves the family flick with a lot less competition when it opens on Nov. 7.

The Duchess premiered at the Toronto Film Festival on Sunday, and opens in limited release Sept. 19, 200. It follows the life of 18th century aristocrat Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire, who was reviled for her extravagant political and personal life (some critics are drawing comparisons to Princess Diana). Here are a couple of clips of […]

In yet more release date switcheroos — which seem to have been spurred by the move of Harry Potter to next summer — Fox has bumped back the release of its adventure flick Australia in the U.S., Canada and Australia by 12 days to Nov. 26.

Directed and written by Paul Anderson, it follows the story […]

I’m as aware as the next guy about all of the issues facing people. But when I heard that Special Olympics chairman Timothy Shriver and a group of folks were marching outside the Westwood premiere of Tropic Thunder on Monday night, I sort of thought, get over yourselves. It’s a movie. Movies make fun […]

This movie sort of snuck in under the radar, but the trailer looks great. It’s a remake of the classic Jules Verne story, opening in theaters tomorrow, July 11, 2008.
Directed by Eric Brevig, it follows the adventures of a geology professor, Trevor (Brendan Fraser), on a quest to learn what happened to his missing […]
