CG-Animated "The Nutty Professor" on DVD Nov. 25
“The Nutty Professor” is coming to DVD on Nov. 25, 2008. I’ve lost track of how many versions there are, but hey, if the formula works…
This one is a CG-animated version from The Weinstein Company, Rainmaker Entertainment, and Genius Products, and pairs up Drake Bell (“Drake and Josh”) as young Harold and comedic legend Jerry Lewis as Julius Kelp. (Jerry Lewis is also a producer.) It’s rated PG for rude behavior and mild language.
When Harold gets his hand on his grandfather’s “cool” elixir, the effects aren’t exactly what he had planned. Sure, it gives Harold the confidence he’s always hoped for, but it also makes him conceited and arrogant. Like his grandfather Julius, he must learn to find true happiness in himself and not rely on magic elixirs to do the trick.
