"Earth vs. Moon" Lands at Universal
“Earth vs. Moon” has landed at Universal, after a bidding war among four studios for the sci-fi epic (I keep thinking of that classic 1956 flick, Earth vs. The Flying Saucers).
The deal from scribes Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, for Scott Stuber (pictured, left, with Peyton Reed and Vince Vaughn on the set of The Break-Up) to produce, was in the mid- to high-six figures.
The acquisition marks the first for Stuber since the departure of partner Mary Parent, who last month became chairman of MGM’s motion picture group, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Stuber is currently producing The Wolf Man, starring Benicio Del Toro and Anthony Hopkins (didn’t he say he was retiring a while back?) and directed by Joe Johnston.
