"Flashbacks of a Fool" - Preview & Trailer

by Jane Boursaw on November 2nd, 2008

While Daniel Craig is burning up screens as James Bond in “Quantum of Solace,” he’s also giving a heartwrenching performance in “Flashbacks of a Fool” on other movie screens.

In short, he’s doing it right. Other actors who’ve played James Bond became so affiliated with the role that it was hard to break out of that into other roles. Daniel Craig has continued to do other movies while doing Bond, and he’s been successful at both. I love him as James Bond, but also love the other movies he’s done along the way, including “Flashbacks of a Fool,” “The Golden Compass,” and “Defiance.”

More after the jump, including a trailer…

Craig plays Joe Scott, a washed-up Hollywood star adrift in a haze of sex, drugs and squandered fame. But when he receives news of the sudden death of his childhood best friend, Joe flashes back to his younger self (played by Harry Eden of “Oliver Twist”- perfect casting) in his small English seaside village and the summer of innocence and tragedy that would change his life forever.

Directed by Baillie Walsh, the movie opened in the U.K. earlier this year, and in New York and L.A. on Oct. 17, 2008. It’s also being released on DVD this Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008. Runtime is 110 minutes; rated R for strong sexual content, nudity, language and some drug use.
