Gary’s Rumour Mill: Prince of Persia To The Big Screen?
Considering that video game-based movie ‘guru’ Use Boll’s Bloodrayne was a tremendous flop at the box-office (it netted a paltry ticket total of just over $2 million dollars in two weeks), you would think that directors would learn that video games just don’t translate all that well to film.
Thankfully, the latest rumoured installment is not a Boll project, but may be headed by action adventure junkie Jerry Bruckheimer. Word on the street has it that he’s looking into creating a silver screen version of the long-running, on again-off again Prince of Persia series of games.
This is all just speculation of course…but being both a fan of Prince of Persia, and of movies, I hope it remains that way. I really don’t think I could stand them slaughtering another of my favourite games.
