Jennifer Garner Drops Wedding Ring Down Drain

I guess fabulous movie stars like Jennifer Garner can be just as clumsy as I am. I’m always terrified my engagement ring will fly off and I’ll lose it forever.

Jennifer Garner has made a TV confession to husband Ben Affleck: She nearly lost a diamond ring he gave her after their daughter Violet was born.

Garner, 34, dropped the ring on Monday when she was getting dressed up for the premiere of her new film, Catch and Release, she said on Live with Regis and Kelly Wednesday.

"He gave me this beautiful diamond ring and I was playing with it and … it fell off," she said. "And it fell under this ice maker in the house – he hasn’t even heard of this yet – and … it fell into the drain under this ice maker."

Fortunately, she had a gem of a plumber on call.

"The plumber had to come and dismantle the thing from under the house. And he found it," she said, holding up her hand to show the ring sparkling again on her finger.

"And Ben hasn’t even heard that," said co-host Regis Philbin.

"I should have warned him," Garner said.

Garner married Affleck, also 34, in June 2005. Violet was born in December of that year.

She said recently that as a dad, Affleck "does a good job. I mean, okay, maybe I wrote out what he was supposed to make for her (to eat) today while I was gone. But that’s just me being paranoid. He’s great – he can do it."
