Kubrick Collection Stays in the UK

by Administrator on November 7th, 2005

Reknowned director Stanley Kubrick has left his extensive collection of scripts, props, letters and photographs to London’s University of the Arts. The eccentric moviemaker, responsible for such classics as Lolita, A Clockwork Orange and 2001: A Space Odyssey, has hoarded over 400 boxes of memorabilia in his English home, including correspondence with Vladimir Nabokov’s wife, carefully filed fan letters, family photos, and evidence of Kubrick’s reputation for anal retentive research tendencies.

An entirely new centre will have to be built to house the massive pack-ratting endeavour. The awarding of the collection to a British institution is considered a coup for the island nation, as several American candidates had been drooling uncontrollably over the prospect of landing such a prize catch.
