Mark Strong in for "Sherlock Holmes"
ComingSoon.net posted a note tonight that Mark Strong has been cast in Sherlock Holmes, the upcoming remake starring Robert Downey, Jr. in the title role.
Apparently, the ComingSoon folks are at the Toronto Film Festival and had just finished speaking with Guy Ritchie about his upcoming crime-comedy RocknRolla, when he let it slip about the Strong casting. No word on who he’ll play, but Ritchie says they’re still looking for Watson, so it won’t be him.
So who is this guy? He’s probably not that familiar to Americans, but he’s a hot-shot in England and has appeared in dozens of films and TV shows, including “Prime Suspect.”
He’s a hot property right now, appearing in Ridley Scott’s political thriller Body of Lies, the upcoming drama Good, and Vin Diesel’s sci-fi flick Babylon A.D.
