Miramax Takes on "Adult Children of Divorce"
Marriage is risky business. When you sign up for it, you’re automatically signing up for a broken heart, whether you and your partner face illness, death or, yes, divorce.
Miramax has picked up a film called “A.C.O.D. (Adult Children of Divorce),” a comedy that looks at the lives of children who’ve grown up in the aftermath. According to Yahoo News, the screenplay will be written by Stu Zicherman and Ben Karlin, “Daily Show” head writer and co-creator of “The Colbert Report.” (In the photo, Ben is second from the left.)
More after the jump…
It centers on a grown man still caught in the crossfire of his parents’ 15-year-old divorce, which now wreaks havoc on his own family. Turns out he was unknowingly part of a study on divorced children, and is enlisted years later in a follow-up study.
I’m sure a lot of people can relate to this, and it could be funny, especially if they get the right guy for the lead character. Somebody like Jason Bateman, Peter Krause, or maybe even Bruce Willis. I’ll keep an eye out for it.
