Film Gecko

Oct. 7th at the Box Office

by Jacob Murphy on October 6th, 2005

The weekend is fast approaching, and I am looking forward to some of the new movies that are coming out this week. Here’s a list of the new major movies opening this week:

In Her Shoes
Thumbsucker
Two for the Money
Waiting
Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit
Where the Truth Lies

The first three are the ones I am hoping to see this week, so here’s a little bit about them.

In Her Shoes sees Cameron Diaz playing a party girl, whose down to earth sister disagrees with her lifestyle. It is being called “a great adaptation of a funny, touching novel”.

Thumbsucker is more of an ensemble movie. The plot seems a little weak, whereby the main character throws his world into disarray when he attempts to stop sucking his thumb.

Two For the Money has the star power of Al Pacino and Matthew McConaughey. In this one former football star Brandon Lang (McConaughey) suffers a career ending injury and aligns himself with a famous sports bookie. It is listed as a Comedy/Drama/Sport/Thriller.
