Paramount Joins Facebook
Hey, Movie Fans! Paramount Pictures is the first major studio to make clips from thousands of its movies available for use on the Internet. How cool is that?! Check it out on Facebook.
The service gives Facebook users access to footage from thousands of movies, ranging from “The Ten Commandments” to “Forrest Gump,” reports The Hollywood Reporter.
“The short clips for a movie that you’ve already seen before helps you relive the moment,” Paramount senior vp entertainment Derek Broes said in a Hollywood Reporter story. The clips range from a few seconds to several minutes.
Of course, they want you to buy stuff, too. They’ll market DVDs of the movies via a button that appears after each clip is played, and will use the application to market upcoming releases, as well, including “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,” coming to theaters May 22, 2008.
