Scissorhands A Slice At Ballet
There’s something I thought I would never type, but it’s true! Apparently someone out there adapted Tim Burton’s Edward Scissorhands (Oh Johnny! Oh Winona!) to the stage, and not just any stage, but one of the slippered variety. Yes, now you too can watch this epic love story woven into a glorious display of neo-gothic ballet.
London ticket sales for the production reached an astounding $1.8 million dollars….before the show even opened. Director Matthew Bourne has been trying to get Edward into a pair of tights for nearly a decade, after having requested the rights from Burton back in the 90’s.
I’d see it.

Well, I did see it-and wasn’t impressed. As I said in my review: you simply can’t dance with scissors.

Unfortunate! It sounded promising.
