The leading lady is to be honoured this February at the Berlin Film Festive by Cinema for Peace, a non-profit organization formed in 2001
Stone was selected as the recipient of the inaugural Cinema for Peace Award for Social Responsibility award because of her strong support of AIDS issues and research, as well as other humanitarian activities. All benefits from this year’s gala will go towards UNICEF and the American Foundation for AIDS Research.
Cinema for Peace will also be honouring the yet un-named 2005 film that “best exemplifies the association’s ideals of ’social engagement for more peace, tolerance and humanity in the world’. In other words, not Get Rich or Die Tryin’.
