"Friday the 13th" Preview & Trailer

"Friday the 13" isn’t far off – both the day AND the movie. Jason is baaaacccckkk … and it’s all my son’s been talking about for weeks. Apparently, teenagers are big into Jason these days.
Here’s the scoop: When a girl goes missing, her brother Clay heads up to the creepy woods around Crystal Lake, where he finds a bunch of rundown cabins and a guy with a machete named … Jason Voorhees.
Directed by Marcus Nispel, "Friday the 13th" hits theaters on Feb. 13, 2009, and stars Danielle Panabaker, Amanda Righetti, Travis Van Winkle, Aaron Yoo, and Derek Mears …read more

Help me pick the Top Five Bloodiest Movies! - POLL
February 1, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
In my top five Mickey Rourke movies, I mentioned that “The Wrestler” included plenty of bloody scenes, as well as a few outright sex scenes. Emil called me out on it in the comments section, noting that just because a movie has sex and violence doesn’t make it bad. So true, Emil! Thanks for the reminder.
And thanks for my next Film Gecko Five - Bloodiest Movies. But I need your help, Geckos, because I don’t watch a lot of the blood and gore. What are your favorite bloody movies?
I’ll start with a poll, but feel free to add …read more

"Possession" – Official Trailer
January 2, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
"Possession" looks like a creepy one. Jess (Sarah Michelle Gellar) is a woman whose life turns surreal after a car accident leaves both her husband Ryan (Michael Landes) and her brother-in-law Roman (Lee Pace) in a coma. Things take an even darker turn when Roman wakes believing that he’s Ryan. As Jess tries to deal with these disturbing events, she struggles with the idea that either the spirit of her husband has returned or that something very sinister is at work.
Sarah Michelle Gellar has done a variety of projects since "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" (which is on my …read more
DVD Giveaway - "I Am Legend" Ultimate Collector’s Edition
December 28, 2008 by Jane Boursaw
I finally sat down and watched "I Am Legend" tonight. It’s a pretty good movie, and has some intense, nightmarish scenes, too. It stars Will Smith as Robert Neville, a scientist in New York City who has survived a virus that’s taken out most of the population.
The ones who are left have mutated into these super-strong, ghoulish-looking beings who seem to feel no pain. And they prey on the few human survivors who are left, and eat them to survive. Neville is a scientist who’s working on a cure for the virus, and encounters a woman and child …read more
"Jennifer’s Body" Gets a Release Date; Megan Fox Doesn’t Get Topless
December 22, 2008 by Jane Boursaw
“Jennifer’s Body” has a release date: Sept. 18, 2009. But Megan Fox’s topless scene has been cut, in case you were looking forward to that.
“Jennifer’s Body” follows a gorgeous cheerleader (Megan Fox), who’s possessed by a demon and starts feeding off the boys in a small Minnesota farming town. Her best friend must kill her, then escape from a correctional facility to go after the Satan-worshipping rock band responsible for the horrible transformation.
Ok, I can almost always find something to like about a movie, but this one sounds completely ridiculous. Aside from the blatant rip-off poster …read more
