Death Note headed to big screen

I have to say right off the bat that I’ve never heard of “Death Note,” so I’m hoping someone will chime in here who knows something about it.
According to a Variety story, it’s a Japanese manga series that Warner Bros. is turning into a live-action film. The story centers on a college student who accidentally finds a misplaced "death note," which gives him the power to kill. All he has to do is write someone’s name on the page and picture that person in his mind.

New Trailer for "Dragonball Evolution"

I was slammed the other day for saying I’m looking forward to "Dragonball Evolution" (and you still haven’t told me YOUR favorites for 2009, C-Dog – come on!), but I think this movie looks fantastic. Even better if you know a bit of the Japanese anime story behind it.
Created by Akira Toriyama, this movie tells the story of an alien sent to destroy Earth. But the alien has a change of heart and decides to join forces with the humans to fight the aliens and bad guys. Sounds good, doesn’t it? (Huh, C-Dog, huh?!)

"Dragonball: Evolution" - Trailer

Check out the trailer for “Dragonball Evolution.” It’s adapted from the manga created by Akira Toriyama, and was also turned into a Japanese anime series. The story follows an alien sent to destroy Earth, but whom has a change of heart and decides to join the humans in their fight against various aliens and bad guys. Looks like lots of high-action and cool special effects, and Justin Chatwin makes a great Goku. Also stars Emmy Rossum, James Marsters, and Ernie Hudson.
